Feng Shui Your Bathroom

The bathroom means so many things to so many people. For some, the toilet is where you go to take care of your 'business', but for others the bathroom is a place of rest and rejuvenation after a long day's work. In feng shui, the bathroom plays little role in enhancing your life aspirations, but if placed inauspiciously, can bring bad luck to the home. Here is a list of feng shui taboos to observe when it comes to your home's bathroom. Wherever you place your bathroom, you should never place a bathroom in the Southwest and Northwest areas in the house. This is because the southwest corresponds with the Matriarch of the home whilst the Northwest corresponds with the Patriarch of the home. In a household, the luck of the patriarch and matriarch, or mother and father of the household is the most important as they provide for and support the whole family.

The size of the bathroom, or to be more specific the toilet bowl area should be as small as possible. The toilet is where waste gets flushed away, and in feng shui, if the toilet is too big, it may flush away good luck and chi. If possible, the bathing area and the toilet should be located in different rooms separated by a door. This way, your bathing area can be as big as you with.

The toilet bowl should never ever be in view from the front door of the house, the kitchen nor the bed in your room. The toilet bowl emits harmful chi and is best kept as discreet as possible.

In feng shui, the main door is considered to be one of the most important sectors of the house. The main door should enjoy good feng shui so as to attract lots of luck in the house. If you live in a house or apartment with two stories, never have a bathroom right above the main door. This would flush all good luck away. If this is so in your home, you Must either relocate the bathroom or the main door immediately.
